I have just replaced an existing outdoor light at the back of my house with a new PIR sensor light. Simple enough. Now I would like to add a second similar light around the corner on the side wall of the house using the one existing switch to operate both lights. What is the best way to do this?

I would also like to move an existing light switch ( nothing to do with the first question ) about 10 inches from where it is at the moment. I was going to put a blanking plate over the old switch, track the wall horizontally to the new position and then link the new switch to the wiring from the old switch via a terminal block. Is this OK ?

1)

add another cable to the first light, run it to the 2nd light connect light.

wires must be joined same colour to same colour

2)
althought only 10 inches, it is acepted that cables ryun vertically not horzonatly, you knopw now the cable is horizontal but what about 6mths time?

better way would be to run in new cable from light.

you may want to look in the refernce section to see how its done, if its just one light / switch it only has one cable

cables are allowed to run horizontally or vertially from fitting

Thanks guys. You have all been very helpful. Its a brand new house. The light switch is upstairs in a hollow wall so I suppose it would be easy enough to get into the loft, pull the wiring up and move it a bit further along the wall.
