Hi

I must be loosing my mind but I have just started replacing all of the greasy light switches and sockets in a new property and I cannot figure out where I am going wrong with the 2 gang light switches where they have three T&E cables feeding in.

Inhale wired 2gang 2 way fine and all the others but now I am a bit stumped. The configuration is a little different on the back of the newer switches albeit not completely different. Can anyone point out what on earth I’m doing wrong.

Currently everything functions but the switches don’t operate the right way. Meaning switch1 off is light on and switch 2 off is fan on. It has three cables feeding into the back box with most of the neutrals terminated in a terminal block.

If any switches work upside down, on the NEW switch swap 1 and 2 round, regardless if there are unused terminals.

or if you can live with the light and fan switches being the other way round (left right wise) from what they used to be, turn the whole switch plate upside down (unscrew, rotate 180 degrees, twisting the wires, reinstall)
