Second hand composite door, can I easily buy a new frame?

Thought I'd ask you guys.

If I buy a door without a frame, are new frames easy to get made-up or are they specific to the brand of door?

Whenever I see a door l'd like, they never have frames

Thought I'd ask before I get the door!

TIA

PS don't mind if the frame is wood/upvc
