I’m in the process of building a lean-to on the back of the house and wondering if anyone has any alternative methods of securing the Eaves plate two two separate brick walls?

I would normally use wall straps, but I’d sooner not see the metal work, as I’ll be keeping the walls brick.

Each brick wall (Solid 9”) is 1200mm long with a 2500mm opening/gap.

My idea is to use a 3000mm x 65 x 100mm concrete Lintel to span the gap, bring the brickwork up to same height as lintel, then 100mm x 100mm wood on top of this.

Any ideas appreciated.

I will be glazing the Lean-to in 6mm toughened glass.

Build the straps into the wall between the skins, use straight straps or bent ones upside down and just hammer over your wall plate when you set it on top. Take a photo if you're involving building control.
