Security outside lights that come on with movement

done some basic calculation lol
lets make lots off assumptions to keep it simple working round a 12v 7.2ah battery a 9-12v 10w led
if a 10w bulb works say 20% off the time over 12 hrs[10w div x5=2wperhx12=24wh] or 2 amps allow say 10% for transmission losses a 7.2ah battery will last just over 3 days
so on the same assumptions an average charge off around 30w a day should keep up with the 24w usage allowing for a bit off losses

according to the description the Mr.Beams lights last a year on a set of batteries used at 'normal' usage

200 lumins is very dull perhaps 1-1.5w or equivillent to half a candle bulb at around 14w normal bulb size
a 100w normal bulb is around 1400 lumins so divide 100w by 7 gives you about 1.4w led equivillant

Sorry I do not understand this.

Would someone please explain what Paulj48's do about going on and off and whether they do what I want.

Thanks

do you expect
a very bright light ?
a bright light ??
a dim light ??
or a very dim light??

I am not overly bothered by the level of light.

I now need only two, one at the back and one at the front.

They will not be linked to each other.

I don’t understand about the wi fi

Do they stay switched on all of the time and light up when something comes into the beam.

I went to buy the one suggested by pauj48’s

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B015W684XQ/ref=twister_B01HFKDLF8?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

and three more came up.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product...act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product...act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

I am now more confused than ever

Thanks for help.

do you have a mobile phone ??
does it have a light on it ??
thats about the level off light you are looking at maybe a bit more or a bit less
is that enough to illuminate the area??

the reason you dont have hundreds to choose from is they are not really up to the job in most peoples eyes
if the light output is any good the batteries will last weeks or months at best
if you know the capacity off the batteries and the consumption off the lights its easy to work out but suspect less than 10 hrs total running time

I would like someone to tell me which one one of the four links below will best do what I need.

leds are improving all the time so we may be surprized by the level off light or longevity off a compact battery set up
but in general most will not put there name to a compact set up as you are asking for a "security light" which means quite bright to very bright staying on for perhaps 20-90 seconds when triggered and giving continuos performance without fail
so good luck with getting an answer

My mate has one of these parked up behind his garage for his security lights.

Wi Fi means the lamps can talk to each other and turn each other on. You don't need it.

Ultra bright LED's with minimum power consumption, 300 Lumens. Making this one of the brightest wireless spotlights on the market (including solar)

To illuminate a 5 metre square area at a level that enables one to see clearly requires at least 900 lumens from a floodlight about 7 foot above the ground.

Spot lights create spots of light and seldom light up an area. 300 lumens concentrated into a small area might be bright enough.

Thanks that is a great help.

I still don't understand how the wi fi comes into it. How do they do it? They are not connected to a PC?

Thanks again for help

Wireless being without wires aka battery operated I believe, far less technical.

I went for a solar pir light as I just wanted a few areas covered, in the end I have had a few styles but these are what I have settled with

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B0...9_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=PPASNFTDZJM8NWS0RYG2

Light output is OK for the area I cover which is 3x3m, solar so fit and forget (south facing wall). Did not fancy replacing batteries.

I have some internal MrBeams devices and they are well made and high quality, thoes look good. (y)
