I have security light with pir which is close to boiler flue and smoke keeps trigering it.I want to remove it further away.I want to put two lights without pir so separate pir can be used. Can one pir triger two light heads or can two separate pirs could triger one light. If possible, then how it can be wired both ways.

HI, you can use one pir to trigger two lights, but you would need one that has a high enough rating (2 x 500w = 4.5amps) you run the live feed to the pir and then to each light. If you want two pirs then run a live feed to each pir, then from each pir to each light. I would do this in plastic conduit to keep it tidy. Also get a pir with daylight sensor so its not going off in the day.

As long as the rating of one PIR can control the total connected lighting load, there is no limit to the number of PIRs and lights you can connect - simply run a length of 4 core outdoor cable between the lot! Your 4 cores are live, neutral, switched live and earth.
