Senco screw gun.

Hi,
I've been given a Senco DS275 screw gun, 18volt and looks almost new.
Tried it out with 35 x 3.9 drywall screws and 12.5mm plasterboard and it's a dream.
Would this tool be powerful enough to screw 2"x1" wooden strips to level off the ceiling joists before plasterboarding ?.

Try it and see if it screams at you. Don't you have a cordless drill/driver?

Senco (and others) do collated wood screws and decking screws for this machine....
