Service Valve vs Emergency Shut Off Valve

I'm using plastic piping, PEX. I'm using pipe inserts of course too.

Is this setup ok for compression fittings?

But of course us professionals dont like to use plastic pipes ( or valves ).

Copper is best !

Its not eaten by vermin.

It can withstand a smaller fire.

It does not flop and look horrible.

The swimming pool heat exchangers have such a small surface area they need the maximum flow rate on the pool side so the temp rise is only a couple of degrees otherwise the transfer power is reduced.

Those I have examined hardly transfer half of their apparent rated power. At least not when the pool temp is up to a bathing temp. At 1 c they might just transfer most of the rated power but thats not what the owners expect.

I fitted these quality isolation vales on each water outlet, hot and cold. They do not leak like the cheap and nasty versions. The added advantage is that they take a cartridges to regulate the water to each outlet. For mains pressure hot and cold water systems these are superb. I inserted a 6 litre a minute cartridge in the hot an cold of the sink. 2.5 in the toilet wash basin, 4.5 in the toilets and kitchen appliances. The shower had none taking full flow. It balances all the system and when an outlet is opened the shower is not affected. They also promote less wastage of water.

Similar price... surely the one with the knob on it is faster and easier to use?
One is user operated, the other is not.

That is why it is used under floors and behind walls and only copper on display. Plastic must be well supported. I yea olden dayes horizontal lead pipe runs were supported on a wooden baton to avoid sagging. It is advisable to do the same with plastic pipes, especially hot water plastic pipes.
