Evening all, have an Oil boiler that hasnt been serviced for a while ( worcester heatslave 12/14 model, and obviously i will not attempt it !

Before I call an OIL engineer to service the appliance could someone give some sort of basic breakdown of what these services consist of and how they differ from a service on a NG or LPG worcester heatslave.

An oil fired boiler is fitted with an OIL burner
a Gas fired boiler is fitted with a GAS burner

The two are VERY diffrent.

Serioulsy though a H/S service consists of;
1) Flue way, baffles and Combustion chamber clean
2) burner strip clean air and fuel handling parts replace the NOZZLE
3) Inspection of oil tank, check for water build up clean or replace filters
4) Test fire valve
5) Drain and check air charge in Expansion vessel
6) Inspect AAVs and water fittings within boiler for signs of leakage and repair if required
7) Functional test of boiler including hot water performance
8) Combustion test of boiler and create service report
9) Raise invoice for approx £90+Vat (depending on what parts have been fitted) and GET PAID.
