Servis drum doesn't rotate with clothes in it!

hi, can anyone help ... my Servis M3190/M3111 works perfectly well with no clothes in it but as soon as I even put a t-shirt in, the drum won't rotate .. which defeats the objective of washing really! Can anyone offer advice to a novice? Thanks v much. oh, ps its never broken down before and is about 5 years old.
 
sounds like your motor brushes are worn out , sorry i used to work on hp so i can not say much more
