Servis fridge freezing up - stat changed

Hi all,

Long ongoing problem with my Servis (I know - sorry) fridge freezer.

The fridge section keeps freezing up, even when its turned right down to minimum. It even freezes drinks left in the salad draws!
The freezer section is also very cold. You have to leave ice cream out for 20 mins before you can get the scoop into it.

I've changed the stat and that made no difference.

There is only one stat that controls the fridge and freezer.

At the moment, i've got it running via a timer switch - 15 mins on and 30 off! There must be a better way!

Any ideas (other than the tip)?

If the timer switch is keeping it cool enough (check the temperature) its a good idea. Many F/Fs though rely on little flaps and fans to keep both compartments at the right temperature. These might not work right if you keep removing the power like this.
