hi can any one help please. My daughter had a new settee delivered and assembled in an upstairs room by Harveys, nedless to say she took no notice of how it was assembled. She is now on the move and the settee will not come down the stairs unless the settee is broken down. Can any one offer any advice please. The settee is of the reclining type with release levers in the side of the arms.

On some setete's the arm's come off. Also most settee's were designed to fit through a 30" wide door.

Foxhole have you ever tried to phone Harveys for assistance?

Andy your suggestion that the arms come off is correct but I cannot see how.
and the building is 400 years old with narrow doors and curved narrow stairs. Thought of removing a window but it's a no no.

If its a recliner the back probably comes off there is probably velcro flaps at the back and the back just slots over the two or probably 4 uprights from the base, you need to have a flat screwdriver handy to release them.
Failing that upend it and work it through 90 degrees to get it through doors and struggle it wll be heavy.
