...by measuring temperature of hot water at the tap. 3 meters of 22mm pipe, at least half of it lagged, running at full bore through the bath tap. When the temperatures have stabilized, what kind of temperature gradient would you estimate between the hot water cylinder and the tap? My gut feeling is it will be no more that one or two degrees, but has anyone got a scientific or experienced answer? Thanks.

If you have a flow rate of at least 15 li/min then I would expect less than 1° loss of temperature if half is lagged.

It seems criminal that anyone still fits hot water pipe without lagging!

Thanks Tony, you confirm pretty much what I thought.

I suspect a section under the floor is not lagged but that will have to wait until such time as I refit the bathroom!
