thats a major drain, it could be 3 metres downI called Anglian Water and they informed me that a 375mm diameter public foul water sewer is running through the land.
you wont get consent to build over it
and if you wanted to move it, it could cost as much as the extension -no domestic builder would go near it, probably wouldnt be allowed, it would probably have to be an Anglian approved civil engineering contractor
if you want to just build near it, you would need foundations lower than the invert level, so could mean piles
Id run a mile, I would read Murdochats post, thats what you would experience....and possibly worse
I supplied some joinery for a guy in Sussex who decided to build a rear extension but didnt want to pay an architect for the dwgs for bulding regs............there were no manholes in his garden, but there was one in gardens either side, and there was a drain 300mm drain 3.2m down running across his garden just on the edge of where he wanted to build..............he cancelled the building inspector, told them he was building an exempt conservatory and carried on building.............I hate to think what thats gonna cost him when he moves
