Sharia Horseback Patrol in Manchester...

Possibly. Probably. It is certainly very strange. But I find it difficult to believe, in these days of everyone videoing everything, that they did anything very serious and we've not seen it. Here is the same video which might be from the man who took it and you can hear him telling the police officers that the horse men were chasing people. Hopefully, more videos will emerge:

Police should have stopped them.....two tier police strike again!!

They chased people on horse? He should have said.

But "what do you want me to do, pull him off his horse" was a bit lame.

I agree. But I would still like to know more about what actually went on. At the start of this video there is a short section on the vigil and the counter protest. On Sky News Australia!!

As so often, I have no idea what your strange little comment means.

There were hundreds of counter protesters there. If you can find a video of it happening that would be much more useful. Otherwise, we only have the word of somebody who sounds drunk.

Yes they "should" but I don't think it's law. It would be construction and use most likely and I couldn't find anything. I didn't look hard tbh
Horse riders are governed by the Highways Act.

They are not "Road Traffic"

I was making a joke because he mentions it about 50 times in the clip.

he sounds northern. It would be unkind to say he sounds drunk.

It's bonkers in this day and age, that horses and their riders have the same legal rights to use the roads as motorists. They even still call it a carriageway for fudge sake. No brakes, no lights, no horn, no indicators.

Mad.

You got brakes. Pull back on the reins.

Lights. Responsible riders have hat lights. One white to the front and one red to the rear. And they wear hi-viz.

Horn... Get the horse to whinny?

Indicators...well, what do cyclists do? Horse riders do the same.

And you have the advantage of 4 leg drive...

Joking aside, I can't see an issue with them. See them a lot round my neck of the woods. No biggie.

In the New Forest, they have right of way.

The fact that ALL the traffic on the road has to slow down to 4 MPH so that a skatty one tonne car wrecking machine does not kill its driver.

They also leave huge piles of shít wherever they like.

We used to work at the racing stables up the road. 4 or 5 times a year, a horse would buck the rider and bolt. The mad jockeys then mount up in the open back Land Rover and chase the maniacal animal down, hopefully before it reached the A51 and cause carnage.

Standard, and absolutely bonkers in this day and age. They should never be on the open road.
