Sharp AL 2040 photcopier

Just replaced cartridge and there is text missing in middle of document.

There seems to be ink along length of cartridge

Pulling my hair out

Hi, i used to work for Sharp some yeras ago.

If the text missing down the page is faded then check the drum (do not touch it with your bare fingers) if its all worn around were your fading is on the paper then try another drum.

If the fading down the paper has a very straight blank cut off as if someone has drawn it with a ruler, then it could be a fault with the laser assembly.

Have 1 year warranty on it so rang Sharp, they said that if they come out and it is a consumable they will charge £175 call out fee plus the purchase of the drum.

Have ordered new drum to make sure it's not at fault first.

It was faulty cartridge mate. I ordered cartridge and new drum, the drum in the copier went last week so had new one to replace it
