they charge when used with a shaver adaptor in a normal socket right?
if so my guess is that the appliances are overloading the shaver socket causing its voltage to drop and there to be insufficant voltage for the charging system work work
What is the make of the shaver socket, is it integral with a light?
Plug's suggestion is most likely, but some newer sockets are load sensitive, if the load is insufficient then the primary of the Tx is turned off electronically. The charge circuit may not be capable of triggering the switch.
As I say, the suggestion forwarded by Plug is most likely, but the above is also possible.
