Hi, I have been searching around on the forum and can't find anything that matches what I am looking for...

In summary I've had a new shed installed and was looking to get some light in there. The simplest way I can see to do it is to run a plug from an existing outdoor socket near the shed and put a bulkhead light on the flex. I was even thinking in putting a separate switch in the shed itself so I don't need to switch on/off at the plug all the time.

Is this really possible/sensible or should I be looking at other options?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Electrically Ok to do that, is the circuit RCD protected ?

If you go ahead, i would suggest you use a switched FCU in the shed, with a 3a fuse fitted for the light. You could add a socket if required as the lot would be fused by the fuse in the plug.

What sort of outside socket is it? Some have covers that protect a plug from rain and snow, others have a cover that does not offer any protection when there is anything plugged into the socket.
