I am looking to put some lights in the shed, its located right next to a two plug external socket on the side of the house. Plan was to take 1 of the sockets up with a plug with wire leading through the shed wall (its a wooden shed) and into a manual switch near the door, then that would turn on/off the lights in the shed.

As I am someone who is very capable of electrocuting themselves, is this an easy thing to do or should I just call out a professional?

Ok, do use cable that is suitable for external use. TRS or similar.
3A fuse in the plug.
I guess you know how to wire a switch?

Erm, cant be too hard I reckon, I was thinking the switch would be something like this... http://www.screwfix.com/p/bg-1-gang-2-way-single-pole-slim-weatherproof-switch/42402 secured to the inside of the shed, with the lights being something like this.. http://www.screwfix.com/p/lap-t8-switch-start-magnetic-weatherproof-batten-1-x-36w-4-1278mm/62188 hung from the roof of teh shed inside. It will be water tight but went weatherproof just in case.

What do you suggest for the cable by the way? I would need cable with the plug on one end to the switch and another cable from the switch to the lights, would it be the same cable?

Thanks for all your help, I appreciate it.
