Morning all

This integrated shower outlet / bracket has quite a short 1/2" threaded connector on the rear. I'm connecting this to a 90 degree backplate elbow for support. But no matter how I connect to it, it seems I'm going to have to cut out some of the aqua panel.

I've looked for a backplate elbow with extended threaded section without luck.

Is there such a thing as a 1/2" male to female connector?

Or some other way I could tackle this?

I think I could come up with a solution without using the backplate elbow but then it would only be supported on pipe clips which I dont think would give enough support.

Found this in my plumbing box. I've no idea what its called!!

You can sink the pipe further in the stud use an elbow and a female iron to copper coupling. This way you can alter the depth to match your finished level. Best to use soldered fittings so no leaks.
That fitting is a tap connector.
