short tap tails

I want to re-use some old taps but the tails are too short for the worksurface they are to go on. Does anyone make "tail extenders" or something like that? All advice appreciated

You could try these

There may be a problem regarding how you tighten the tap to the new surface which may be overcome by using a load of washers. Not ideal, but it may work.

Counterbore the underside of the work surface to accommodate the backnut.
