Shortening Power leads

Hi,

Just moved property and unfortunately there's nowhere to hide all my AV equipment like the last house so most will have to be on show. The power leads to a lot of the equipment are significantly longer than they need to be. Is there any disadvantage to shortening them and adding a plug so I don't get a lot of trailing wires?

Only disadvantage may come if you want to move them to a different location and they are too short. Make sure if you are replacing the fitted plug that you also keep the same fuse rating.
