Should I fix my Eurosec CP8L or replace the system entirely with another?

Hi - I'm new to the forum and would be grateful for any help/advice.

I moved into a house that had been empty for 2 years, only to find the fitted wired alarm system keypad showing this (pls see pic). It is a Eurosec CP8L according to the manual left behind.

What does this display mean though, as there's no message?

As far as I can tell, the control panel and pirs are all receiving power, so is it just a simple case of getting the battery/batteries replaced and the system serviced to get it going again?
Unless I'm wrong, I think the system is obsolete so might it be better to go with a completely new replacement of component parts with another brand?

Thank you in advance for any ideas or advice.

looks like a keypad failure of some kind, replacement keypads are available new old stock, I have 2 in the office for the example but these are not for sale but for customers that may need them that have this panel.

I would look t replacing as cost wise you can get a new system with manufactures warranty.

Risco last time I checked had sold out so its unlikely there be any more added to the current circulation that is new.

Thanks for your prompt reply.

I've just now had a local firm come and price up a new system replacing 3 PIR sensors, 2 door contacts, panel (a hybrid Eaton ion40h which then allows for future expansion with cameras etc), keypad, bellbox and dummy, keeping existing wiring for £920- wow! I just wasn't expecting that much TBH, but need to sort out a security system very soon.

I think I'll have to shop around

Post pictures of your detectors, and bellbox ..
I would go for a euro 76 panel , would cost you around £180 for panel keypad new battery , you could re use the rest …if they look ok

If you’re able to screw something and follow instructions.

Maybe look at diy.

Or look at having a preconfigured panel.
So all you have to do is fit it up and follow some basic instructions. Then test?

As for panels lots of options, the cp8 isn’t a very big panel so how much space is around it may limit your options.

Seen them squeezed in and seen others with plenty of space and in an easily accessible area.

Thanks for your help guys.

The house is around 16 years old, and I wouldn't be surprised if the alarm system is also roughly of the same age.
It's too dark to snap a pic of the bellbox but I've attached pics of one of the sensors and door contacts.

Thanks - I'll check out the euro 76 alternative, and I don't mind simple diy so will look at that option too.

Sorry, meant to add a pic of the panel. I think the space around it for a bigger panel isn't an issue.

Just my need to double check the route of the power cable from the panel to the fused spur so you dont screw through it with another box.

As for which panels lots of options.

Sensors look basic but in decent condition, so if they are working I wouldn't bother changing them unless you want to.

Thanks for the headsup.
Here's the bellbox. Not sure if it works OK but I'll look to getting that replaced too and start afresh.
Cheers
