Another suggestion: perhaps all cable PVC could be the colour of iron?

I don't know the name of that colour, but we could call it 'irony'.

I think you might be onto something there, colour code the T+E..

red stripe down the 1.5, blue down the 2.5, brown down the 4.0, yellow down the 6.0, black down the 10.0
no need to colour the 1.0 and the 16.0..
