Shower Pump Underneath Bathtub

I am new to this forum and wanted to know if it is safe to install a shower pump underneath a bath tub. I have installed the shower pump but have not connected it to the electric supply. Can someone tell me whether this is safe and how I should go about it. Thanks

It's ok to do that but the access to the pump must require the use of tools. i.e the bath panel must be screwed on requiring the use of a screwdriver.

thanks for your reply I also wanted to know if it essential to use a spur or can I just use a plug connected to a socket outside the bathroom ? Also do I need to use a RCD ? thanks
