I had a new bathroom fitted a couple a months ago, but now I have
a small problem. I cant turn off the shower , using the string switch
You can pull it as hard as you can but it wont move. Is it safe to turn
of the mains and undo the switch and take a look, then put back and try again, or would it be best to get the builder back to take a look.
Many thanks
Quick fit

sounds like new switch required, yes you MUST turn it off at mains and change like for like

Making sure the switch rating is equal to or exceeds the MCB rating.

I expect Breezer meant like-for-like in terms of rating, assuming the existing one is adequately rated, not necessarily replacing the switch with an identical one, as maybe it's failed because it was a cheap'n'nasty one.

Go for a good quality make like MK or Crabtree.
