Shower Tray refurb

Not quite tiling, but it's a related question!

I've just removed a ceramic shower tray to redo the tiling of the cubicle after a leak, and the flexible sealant that was used to bed the tray won't come off.

Any top tips to get this stuff off without scratching the tray, apart from a bucket full of elbow grease!!! :D
 
Sharp chisel to shift 99% of it, then rub it with your thumb to get the rest off. You will lose the skin on your thumbs. :wink:
