Hi, I'm putting in a new bathroom for the first time and am looking for some advice around putting the shower tray in:

Is it best to tile the wall first and then put the shower tray in? Or to put the tray in and tile around it?

Have seen conflicting advice so any comments much appreciated!

tray in first and then the tiles overlap the edge , makes it easier to get a good seal.
however follow the manufacturers instructions if different from that, especially with regard to the position of the tray to the screen/door

Thanks for your reply. Do you recommend that the tray is recessed? The tray I have has an up-stand, not sure if that can be recessed.

the upstand makes it easier to achieve a good seal as water cannot run down the back of it, make sense?

Yes, think so!? Thanks. As you say, this sounds like the simpler way to get a good seal.
