Hi can any one put some light on this for me, we have a shower in a room that as shower gas boiler in for heating,
Well the service on the boiler did not go ahead as we where told that the reason was there was a working shower in the same room,
The shower as been there for around 20 years plus as with the boilers as the shower serve the ref on football days
So been told to have the service of the boilers we need to stop the shower from working by means of disconnected is there any way around this at all

Is it because the boiler is not IP rated for use in a bathroom?

How far is the boiler from the nearest edge of the shower cubicle?

It is ruffle 5 foot, I was told by engineer that the boiler is open flu to

1.5m is plenty enough away from Zone 2, so I don't think it can be to do with the IP rating of the boiler.

Sometimes there are restrictions on fans in rooms with boilers, but I've not heard about showers being an issue.

Room sealed boilers draw air from outside, open flue draw air from inside. Normally any open flued appliance above 7kw will require ventilation from outside

So what is the specific issue that the gas service guy is unhappy with?

What's the reason?

I mean, why specifically bathrooms?
Possibly stems back to the old multipoint water heaters, you'd be laying in the bath all cozy and warm, then someone runs a tap and the heater lights up, but there's a problem with the flue and the fumes come back in th room, and as you are half asleep you don't realise and drop off forever.
