Shutter Installation Advice

Hi we're thinking about getting shutters made via California shutters as there half the price of Hilary's but it means a diy installation.

I've checked out a few of there videos and it looks straight forward however as our house is a new build we've had alot of trouble fixing fittings into the plaster walls.

Any advice?
