Hi all, imminently going to pour some deep-ish concrete foundations, need to use some shuttering in a couple of areas that have caved in a little too much. I have an abundance of old fence wood, which would do the trick, some treated, some painted, is there any reason not to use this wood? Could the chemicals in the wood in any way react with the concrete, or am I massively overthinking?

Many thanks in advance as always

Anything will do. I used old ply from flooring with the lino still attached, and some old fence panel bits. Once the concrete is poured, you never need to even think about it again.

If you are still fretting about it, cover it with binbags or dpm or anything similar but it really won't be a problem
