My phone is answered between 8am - 10pm 7 days.

You would be surprised how many people call out of the normal work hours 9-5 mon- fri. I turn 90% of these calls into work.

But then again, I love the job I do.

They say do your hobby for a job and you will have money and never work again.

Horses for courses. I would not phone for a boiler service quotes on a Sunday, but if the WC was blocked Friday 10 p,m, I wouldn't be waiting for a convenient opportunity to phone during work hours mon - fri!

I agree with HD2010 reg Sundays being only suitable day for many people.

If I'm awake, and possible to do so, I will always answer my phone. You never know what might come of the call. Doesn't mean I'm gonna necessarily go to the job there and then but a suitable time can be arranged.

In regards to the word 'services' you can always replace with 'solutions' for example.

FWIW - I just had my company name/logo and my website on mine.

(logo)Limerock Construction
www.limerockconstruction.com

So far i've had a couple of people say that they have seen the vans around and looked at the website. I agree that people only have a limited amount of time to read the info, hence why I didn't put a number on it - takes to long to write down.

Keep it simple and professional looking

Thanks mate.

I saw it as a reasonable investment when I went out on my own. I paid 2k and they designed, Company Name, Logo, Flyer, Business Card, Headed Paper and the website, (although the website is due a few tweaks!).

People often comment on its professional appearance. Thats all I was after, i'm not overly made up on either the name or the logo, but it all works together, and thats where I think advertising the business works the best - its cohesive and professional and I think quite clean - don't want anything too busy. The vans reflect that.

I look at those vans with a list of things they do with a smile, and think "no you don't". They probably do one or two trades well, and then just wing it on all the others

From my perspective, they are either a tradesperson who specialises, or a handyman who has no special skills

But, from the the perspective of Mr and Mrs Average, or the little old lady, or the single mom, or the busy professional, they see someone who can sort all their problems out in one hit

So, if you want work from those people, ignore people like me and get that list printed on the van.

If you want to contract to builders, then specialise in one or two very closely related trades.

Don't waste space and time with gimmicky statements either - name, number and what you do. Make the text clear and visible from afar so when people look who is working in the street, they can read the van

In this age, have an email address too - and not a poxy hotmail one, a proper company one .. along with a web address. And a single professional looking web page will be convincing

Thank you everyone the van has been written now, its got my full name trade and contact numbers, thus far, adding web address when that's sorted. Now I've got to keep reminding myself that my names all over my van so I must drive with more courtesy to others, even the idiots that cant drive.

Thank you.

Did they throw in the lime coloured gloves?

I like that site, very professional.

Back to the op

How about something simple(as already suggested)like:

eg

John Smith
Carpenter.

Says it all.

As for photos on the rear doors............very traveller(esque) imho.
