Hi all,

Please see attached photos.

This is how the developers clowns finished off our shower tray. We’ve been in just under 12 months.

Can someone tell me if I’m better off using silicone in the direction of the red lines as clearly filling the outside of the shower with blobs of clear silicone did nothing and it looks ridiculous.

Should I be sealing the whole shower tray from the inside across the face of the shower from left to right and up the wall?

Thanks

Some screens you just silicone on the outside so any water that gets inside can run back in and away down plug

Ah right, might try and get the brand and see if there’s such instructions

Frame looks badly fitted , silicon may not sort it, may need a refit .
What makes you say that? It’s not leaking as such in the outside, I’m just more worried about the silicone turning black and water getting in behind or dripping down under the tray

Drying it out after use will stop the black mold.

In a couple of the pictures the tray appears to have a lip that the screen is sitting inside so escapes of water from the tray is not a concern unless you start going crazy with the silicone (on the red lines as proposed) removing the existing escape path for any water that finds itself outside the screen

If it's not leaking I'd leave it alone. If black mould is the primary concern perhaps go over the existing mishmash mess of silicone colours with a dark silicone so it looks neater, more stylish and any inevitable mould is harder to see

Alternatively as mentioned strive to keep it dry, keep the bathroom warm, and give it a regular spray with HG mould spray, Milton sterilising fluid or watered down bleach

The frame has a gap , it should be sitting firmly against the tiles .
