Just went to look at a boiler for a mate, never come across one of these sime combi's before.

It had a flashing red light which I took to be the fault indicator, but I couldn't find anything in the manual about what it means. So I checked ho water was switching, thats ok. checked pump runs when started, thats ok. I am sure I could hear the fan running but didn't hear the air pressure switch switch, so I blew through the pipe and it fired up. I told him it would need a new air pressure switch. But nw iv'e thought abut it a bit and if it is working when I blow is that the problem? or the fan?

to put you out of your misery the air press switch (aps )is operated by the fan spinning and the venturi in the out let of the fan housing causing a pressure differential across the 2 flexible tubes leading to the aps making the aps move and complete the circuit electrically...therefore before condenming the aps ,clean and chk the venturi assembly on the outlet of the fan (it means taking fan assembly out,,also chk the tubes arenot split or disconnected....if that doesnt work change the aps
