when you refer to a wifi switch being hacked , what do you mean ? who would want to hack into a switch ?

Im confused, what data could they get from the switch ? do you mean they can access your wifi network or your phone via the switch ?
You give the switch your WiFi data for starters, I guess anything could be transmitted. Unlikely tho I think. They could be placed on a guest network?
All my sonoffs are flashed with tasmota and only transmit to the local network..
