Successfully replaced a single light switch in the garage but after a week or of successful use as I switched off there was a "pop" at the switch, a flash and the main fuse tripped. What have I done wrong..There is a spur wire for a secondary light but appears OK.. any guidance would be appreciated....Geoff

Is the switch surface or flush mounted?
Have you looked behind the switch since it blew the fuse? Is there any sign of scorching or a blast mark?
Is the new switch metal or plastic?
Will the fuse reset or does it keep tripping?
What sort of light fitting is it? Have you replaced this recently?
