My single oven appears to be on its last legs and I need to replace.

However the present single oven has a plug attached rather than a dedicated cooker switch or circuit that I have had in other houses.

Is an old oven so I am wondering whether I can buy a replacement single oven that will plug straight in?

Or do I need to fit a new circuit and then an oven that needs to be hard wired?

Thank you.

Yes, most small 'built-in' ovens come with a plug fitted.

There may be a circuit behind the oven from previous use.
Do you have a circuit on the consumer unit which is not used.
It may even still be labelled 'cooker'

Plenty of ovens on the market with 13A plugs.
Could have been a dedicated cooker circuit in a previous life and been modified.
What size is the circuits cable?
How old is the house?
