Hi I have a single socket on a ring main. Is it ok to remove this, chop out a bit of the wall and install a dual box. Then spur from one socket to a fused connection for a chimmley hood and then the other to a 20A DP switch onto a 13A unswitched plug socket for a single oven.

Thanks

Technically, yes. I take it you mean you are installing a dual box which takes 2 single sockets? Having both sockets on the ring main, and spurring off both. This is ok.

no sure im understanding your post correctly but it doesnt sound right.

you can spur off the ring but you cannot spur from a spur...... unless you have a fcu(with 13A fuse, not a nail!) fitted before the first spurred socket.

what size kw oven is it? this needs to go on its own circuit really.
