a couple of years ago I saw these fitted in a flat, they (clipsal I think) are an adapter which converts a single socket into a twin socket. I found that there was some difficulty getting the plug to fit into them.

Anyway I fitted a few for a friend recently and guess what? difficulty getting the plugs to fit.

Anyone else had this problem or know a different manufacturer of them?

get a double surface box and screw to wall over existing single. put a hole in the back for the wiring. easy.

those converter sockets are MUCH thinner than a surface box.

i've never fitted any myself though so i can't say how good the sockets are.

i kno there thinner. i have never actually used them so i cant say whats its like wiring them. but if size doesnt matter, you could use the surface box
