Hi all,

Thanks for your thoughts on this:

I've used cement board and then BAL tanked for shower walls before.

I've got someone coming in to redo our bathroom who is suggesting he'd use Aquaboard: https://www.siniat.co.uk/en/products-and-systems/products/internal-boards/10-aqua-board. I've never used it, don't know anything about it really (water resistant plasterboard)

I'd prefer he use something he's comfortable and familiar with, and I'm really really trying to not second-guess him! ...but I also want to be sure it'll stay there, and not fail for a long time.

So, any thoughts on that?

...and if he uses aquaboard, is it a good idea to ask him to BAL tank the joints between boards?

Thanks for your thoughts, Stephen

Only suitable when using a compatible waterproof tile adhesive.

They provide their own aquamix jointing for this board and it must be used, aswell as a drywall sealer and aquastrip. Only then does it achieve its 10 year guarantee.
