Sink waste too high?

As suggested, put the sink waste system on and see. Though having a quick look at the pic, you may find it is. Does the waste elbow down at the back of the unit or is it straight out the wall?
If it's the former then it can be adjust but should have been setup properly prior to/ or at the time of the unit being fitted. If it's the latter then it's a new waste pipe location cored through the wall.
