skimming over emulsion

I've been asked if i can skim an old emulsion ceiling for a friend. I was wondering if I needed to apply a sealer coat before plastering

Remember that the only thing holding your skim up will be the old emulsion. Better scraping off what you can.

Oh and if you've never skimmed a ceiling before you'll most likely make a complete pigs ear of it.

score the lid with a knife then WBA first the night before then skim it use muilti 2 coats sored
