Does anyone know of the best place to get cheap, but straight skiritng board and archatrave?

I've looked at Wickes and B&Q, but their's is generally really bent. You can normally root around for a couple of good bits on the shelf, but as I need several multi packs, I don't want to deal with sending the bent ones back.

Adeally, I'm looking at thick archatrave and thinner skirting to make doorways easier.

Cheers,
Fubar.

your local woodyard/timber merchants will have in lengths up to any where between 4.2 and 5.1m so no joins

Not so much worried about the joins as the hideous warping you get.

Will check out some locals and accept that you have to pay more for the quality

my wood yard is cheaper for example 2x1"par 90p a metres bxpoo 103.75p a metres

5x1"par 224 and bxp 271p

If you are painting it then mdf is a good option, no knots, splits or warping.

Will probably go MDF for bedrooms and living room, but it's moisture sensitivity makes it a no no for the kitchen.

Can't always account for cracks/chips letting some in. And once it blows, it's ruined. Just out of comfort, I'd rather stick with real wood in the kitchen.

I thought about uPVC skirting, but can't sand and fill it at the joints.
