The boss, has decided we need chamfered skirting and door architrave.
Old Ogee removed and plaster board is intact down to floor level.
Don't want to nail or screw to wall but am thinking of double sided sticky tape or is there a quick setting adhesive
:?:

MDF OR WOOD :?:
THANKS FOR ANY HELP GUYS.

Double sided tape? !! Take it from someone who knows. What you are suggesting sounds like the type of thing that even a cowboy bodge job merchant wouldn't try to get away with!

Unfortunately everyone has the right to do whatever they like to their own property and most do ending up with a gahstly mess when finished!

Architrave and skirting need to be fitted..this is before you begin fixing it. Joints should fit properly without gaps and mitres are almost never perfect 45 degrees and 'square joints' are rarely 90 degrees. ie they need cutting, planing, or paring back to fit.

As for fixing, you cannot ever beat screws or nails providing they are recieved by a stable and solid background. All of the adhesive 'no more nails' type products will in the vast majority of situation produce a decent job INITIALLY! Due to damp, flexing and natural movemnt, heating and warming etc etc, they will never come near to matching the proper fixing of screws and nails. Most eventually fail and you will never get a decent fit anyway.

They do have their uses IN CONJUNCTION with proper fixing but it's a bodge job that relys on them totally.

"if you DIY do it Properly"!
