Anyone used skirting heating? Any feedback? Makes? Effectiveness?

I see the output of some skirting heating is about 170 watts per metre at 82C water temp. Not exactly overpowering. What are you experiences of heat output?

It appears cheaper than UFH for sure.

the amount of heat you put in is exactly equal to the amount of heat that comes out. Regardless of shape and cost of the heating device. If you have plenty of money and want to buy expensive things, good luck to you.

Energy from electricity currently costs about four times as much as energy from gas, so use gas unless it is unavailable or you like wasting money.

All electric, no gas. Skirting heating can be electric or hydronic. Walls to be kept clear. Need feedback on operation and other aspects of these from those with exposure.

I looked at therma skirt and after pricing it up it was indeed much cheaper than ufh and much more expensive than radiators. The output would have been marginal in the old part of the house.
In the end i went with 3no 1800wx300h single panel rads in the lounge on the outside walls, which are almost the same thing as skirting heating other than looks and less heat loss to the wall, and can be run at much lower condensing friendly and safe temperatures. They are also extremely cheap and easy to fit. In other rooms i went for Smiths plinth heaters some of which are extremely quiet and others are very noisy.
Hope that's useful
