Hi Guys

I have tiled my fireplace with 600mm x 600mm slate tiles. Do i need to use any kind of sealer on them? and do I do this before grouting or after?

Also i would like them to keep their matt look but make them darker, can you recommend anything? I was going to use white grout ( 5mm crosses) if that makes any difference!

Thanks in advance

Lucy

Lithofin stain stop will seal your slate and leave it with a matt finish whereas Lithofin Slate seal leaves it shiny. Are you sure you want to use white grout, this might be a poor choice around a fireplace?

Seal once before grouting and a couple of times after or until tiles stop 'sucking'

Thankyou! I should have said, it is no longer a fireplace, it has been removed and blocked off.
