Hello

So, I currently have a B&Q store brand Mac Allister compound mitre saw.

I think I may have one of the smallest workshops in the country, being 2ft 6” deep, 6ft 6” height and 5ft 9” wide.

I have an issue with space and always wanted a sliding mitre with a laser, but found the extra space needed behind it an issue. I know you can get mitre saws that “slide” example BOSCH EXPERT EXCM341-305GD

While I was looking online to see if anyone else sells anything like this I came across what I think is called a fixed rail mitre saw.

I have found a few on amazon, but the only issue is I would prefer or require a double bevel.

My wish list of the mitre saw

Laser guide
Double bevel
210-305mm blade
Fixed rail sliding

Not required, but would be nice.

Trench or depth stop
Zero clearance plate

Saws I have found are

Hyundai HYMS2000E - single bevel only
Excel EMS5156 - single bevel only
Excel 17992/17993 seem to have double bevels.

Yeah, so if you know of a fixed rail mitre saw with 210mm - 305mm blade size that fits my needs could you let me know.

Thank you

whats the budget , have you looked at dewalt and would you be OK with a shadow line rather than a laser
I have 250mm dewalt , which goes back against a wall in the garage when i have it out no rails at the back and ideal fo setting up close the the wall
its not double bevel - but some are - just depends on what you want to spen

its not really going to work in your workshop as any sliding saw will need about 2.5 to 3.5 times the blade size to function plus your body in front perhaps another 18 inch give or take with elbow movement so the 30" is a non starter iff you turn the saw round 90% then length is a non starter as ideally you need each end at least 6ft to allow a 6ft cut but with hanging out the door can allow much longer cuts with the last up to 6ft cut off a say 16ft 4.8m length
with your 5ft9 with the saw living just inside the door and the table bed perhaps 30" you will have a perhaps 4ft to 4ft 3 inches beyond the position off the blade to the back wall
