Hi our garden is about 2ft higher than our house. Im currently digging out ready for a 4x4 extension which will have french doors onto a patio to the side. The garden isn't very big so it will be upto the end wall. This wall will have a window which will look fine from inside but would it look odd from the garden as it would only be about 1ft from the grass, any ideas?

Ideas as to what? Dig around your extension to make a pathway? Means building your retaining wall further back, rather than the extension wall acting as the retaining wall. Or make the garden steeper?

As the garden isn't very big i want to avoid the path as this reduces the grass area to much. I think the shallower option would be best. Had a search on the net but can't see any pics but think a full window would look stupid from the garden....cheers Nige
