No doubt this has come up before - but couldn't find a suitable search key!

I've got 'Victorian' (well - 1898 in fact) small, black and white tiles laid in geometric pattern in my hallway. They are laid 'groutless' - ie. no significant gaps between the tiles.

I'm planning a re-lay, to fix some damage and uneven-ness but have no information about techniques and materials to use - especially adhesive. What I DO have is lots of spare tiles, acquired from a demolition site, although cleaning off the cement is going to be a right PitA!.

Anyone got any hints and tips? (I want to keep exactly the same pattern and grout-less arrangement)

Thanks.

I have the same problem!

I need to lay replacement tiles and I have never tiled before - never mind this type of job.

Any help much appreciated.

There's not much to it. Same idea as regular tiling but once you lay the tiles you should tap them flat using the flat surface of a grout float.
