I was looking at this house recently. A good quality early 20th century redbrick, close to a Victorian railway, so wide access to building materials. House walls appear to be cavity.

I noticed lots of little white marks where holes in the brickwork have been filled in. I thought at first vine eyes, but they seem to be everywhere. Too small for cavity fill with blown fibre, but maybe an older foam process. I can see at some point the walls have suffered with leaking gutters but there seem to be too many to be silicone injections.

Any ideas?

The smallest typical hole size used for blowing in loose-fill wall insulation is 1 inch (approximately 25 mm) in diameter

Cavity bolt ties perhaps?

It is an exposed coastal position. Steel rusts quickly.

Looks like weeps were deliberately provided over the front door

Makes sense.

Coloured mortar to cover the holes would have been good.
